“What a humbling experience this has been,” Reynoso said Wednesday on his Facebook page. “Surrounded by so many awesome and talented designers, I honestly didn’t see it coming. As they were calling the Silver Award I was thinking, ‘Well, I’ll try again in four years.’ As they called my name for the Gold, my blood dropped. My real prize is to be surrounded by such brilliance. It is a true honor.”

Triad Stage long has received praise for its stage designs from audiences and critics.

Reynoso came to Triad Stage through the Southeastern Theatre Conference as a winner of the Ready-to-Work program.

Triad Stage already has booked him as the scenic designer on its production of “How I Learned to Drive.” The theater will present Paula Vogel’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play in April 2018 at the Hanesbrands Theatre in Winston-Salem.

“Our community is definitely lucky to have his unique vision working at Triad Stage,” Marketing Manager Tiffany Albright said.
